It is a matter of them not giving a single fuck in terms of creating visual diversity, because they know, they k n o w, they can recycle the same White princess with new hair, or eyes, or neck widths (!!!), and people will defend their choices to the ends of the earth while trivializing any complaints about a lack of diversity coming from anyone who is tired of the endless status quo reinforcing, hegemony confirming Whitegirl avalanche.
NO, Rapunzel and Anna do not favor each other because “CHARACTER DESIGN IS HARD”.
And people shouldn’t have to undergo the entire fucking animation process themselves to get some fucking diversity from one of the world’s most influential animation companies.

Amazon Debuts ‘Kindle Worlds,’ Where Your Gossip Girl Fan Fiction Can Earn You Cash Sometimes a writer creates a universe so compelling that others feel the need to join and help flesh out that world with their own tribute fiction. And sometimes you make something crappy like Gossip…What in the hell! Damn, this makes me hella uncomfortable. I’m torn between deleting all my online fanfiction or… hoping that this madness passes. This is so not a good idea.
People would be stealing shit left and right. Hell, they do that now and fanfiction is for free. Let’s not get into the authors who are going to be fucking pissed at this as well they should be because they won’t be getting any of that money based off of their characters.
Lawd.
I’m not here for this at all. I need people to profit from their own creativity, not just jumping off of someone else’s.
the biggest problem with this is that, even if you do decide to sell your fanfic through them, you won’t get much protection. once you publish - according to the details of this program - they own it. they can republish it in an anthology or in another country/language, and you won’t see an additional dime.
furthermore, the owner of the original universe and characters can take your idea and turn it into a film/book/tv show/etc and not have to compensate you at all. it’s typical Amazon bait-and-switch. on the surface, it seems alluring, but you have to read the fine print. the only way property rights’ owners would agree to this is if Amazon promised them a deal they couldn’t refuse. “you’ll get a cut of the profits AND have an endless pool of story ideas that you don’t have to pay for!” the fanfic writer will get screwed. twice.
fanfiction isn’t new. hell, the Star Trek novels are basically authorized fanfiction. at least there, the authors are properly credited and compensated. this sounds like a really, really bad idea.

But if I say, I don’t agree with what you’re saying I’m an asshole? I’m pretty sure atheism has contributed so much negativity but I think it’s so ridiculous to be angry at her for speaking her mind. i was stuck in an office all day watching CNN and the reporter himself was annoying the shit out of me. he was pretty much putting words into the peoples mouths especially on one occasion with the latino guy Jose….something who he and a friend found a man under some rubble crying for help.
while Jose was trying to say that everyone helped get this man from under the debris, the interviewer (same guy as above) kept trying to focus the attention that Jose was the lone person who did this all on his own. i can’t pull a direct quote because this was over 10 hours ago but i just remember being really irritated at how awkward it was.
actually, one part, the reporter was like “the man is now being taken care of by a medical team, have you gone to visit him?” (or something like that) and Jose is like “no i haven’t” but he said it in a way like “i haven’t and i wasn’t planning on it because theres so much else to do” and the reporter is like “well you’re going to you’re a hero to these people” and CONTINUES the interview. and Jose just has this look on his face like “…..”
idk, its that man, that reporter in general that just irks my nerves. every interview he’s done today alone has been awkward and forced. he either puts words in their mouths or asks questions that just set someone up for embarrassment.
