Ay yo Zira’s suicide was, imo, preferable to her in-movie death.
One of those rare deleted scenes I think worked just as fine as what made it into the film vOv
The deleted scene I set off to find MEH. The part with Zira and Kovu? Way too on the nose although MAYBE that’s what WAS NEEDED because no one pays attn to the fact that Kovu is adopted when ~nuka says it~ The part with Nuka/Vitani was cute I guess. For like five seconds. Until it got really OBVI and awfully exposition-y. (Ahaha poor Nuka ur life sucks and then you died.)
ahaha
I still maintain that his deleted death scene was so dumb.
“WELP.”
like I don’t want to spill all my shade onto that Mike-blog LoK posttt so I won’t
But it must be really nice to have a positive outlook going into the next season.
Because I am just soOoooOoooo disillusioned with bryke as standalone showrunners, tbh.
I can be won back, but their A+ that gets gradually subtracted from is gone. They’re starting with a 0.
Maybe like a 0.07% if I’m being generous.
Yet this franchise still has me, man.

Also, that younger suspect looks like Natt Wolfe in the pic on channel 2/CNN and it’s weirding me the hell out.
Sam & Cat trailer starring Ariana Grande & Jennette McCurdy! Coming this June to Nickelodeon!

Like he’s coming to class to speak and stuff and I know he’s trying to be all ~*inspirational*~ and ~*bring back hope*~ and DONT’ DUMB IT DOWN/RISE ABOVE and shit
Bu t t T t idk.
He tweeted MAN THE CLIPPERS ARE AS DEEP AS HOE PUSSY!!!! like a month ago so rly how progressive r u, sir.
Idk I just have nothing shining to say and no questions to ask that wouldn’t drastically affect the atmosphere of the classroom.
Kinda just feel sorry for the guy. U tried. Buttttt…….
/quietly contemplates future job opportunities with SMGO I mean I am a soon-to-be media studies graduate from UCBerkeley and versed in animation **ahem**
MY REAL ISSUE IS, do I go that route, or email them from a media/journalist standpoint because lbr an article on them would also look great as a resume fluff for Teen Scene magazine hm hmmmmmm
Conflict of Interests - A Memoir
here i t is i diid it
do something fun, like the lolita or steampunk subcultures. With steampunk you could talk about imperialism and the beyondvictoriana blog + non-white steampunk folks toothis is something that i seriously have not considered but i’m just wonderg about the resources available BUT THIS DOES SOUND COOL I COULD DO A SERIES OF STEAM PUNK THAT GOES BEYOND WHAT IS TYPICALLY PERCIEVED OF IT (white anc cogs and stuff idk)Yeah! BeyondVictoriana [website] is a great blog I follow, and the mod has an Academia profile. I also bought the Steampunk Bible on a whim, so maybe start there and look for articles about 1800s Modernity, Romanticism, Modern interpretations of Victoriana + colonial and imperial discourse? Dunno I said it before I saw you were considering rap/r&b haha.
It should have a fair amount of stuff, I think? It’s been more popular to write on.
ugh now i am super excited and equally confused about the approach i should take ont his assignment
because this does look like a fun and long assignment
and i think tackle both means i get to use it as a means of exploring something i am very much devoted to learning and more about (racism and the representation of poc)
like a part of me wants to do hip hop and rnb but it is so diverse and i don’t know what steps to take
and even though steam punk seems to be spoken a lot about rn, there is still this one mainstream homogenous image
and thinking about steampunk is making me think about fantasy as a culture and a genre and exploring fantasy through the lens o f world which revolve around the actions of poc
idk now i am even more confused and more inspired
but those resources lead me on to probably doing more on steam punjk
like i could do a whole campaign on steam punk across th globe idk
I think learning more about rap/rnb would be great but I would almost try to find like…a sub-genre of rap? Like the example you had talked about Gothic Rock music which is a sub-culture of just “rock”. I think trying to tackle all of rnb and rap music would ultimately be too broad for what you want… but I don’t personally know enough about either genre of music’s history myself to actually put my finger on specific things either.
Whereas Steam Punk I think is more readily definable because it’s newer and so much of is “what if the Victorian British Empire did…THIS _____?” and it isn’t all necessarily fantasy related but also an examination and romanticization about a period of great change and industrialism that sort of set the foundation for world hierarchies that divided industrialized/non-industrialized countries. I have a secret dream of making an exhibit about the real British Empire vs. Steampunk re-imaginings and the things that are based in fact vs the things that are glossed over and fictional depictions of fake histories though so go with your heart!
If you really want to study rap find a particular part of it that interests you, and follow it, I think. You seem concerned about accurately portraying whatever you discover which I usually think is the first step to not being hiphopfightsback, haha.
I am in a hurry and possibly not even getting at the gist of what you wanted, but there was, briefly, a Black/PoC steampunkish music type thing that might fit your interests?
They were called the Harlem James Gang. I have a tag, and if you google them they pop up. And there was a discussion on Steamfunk that might work too.
