Cassandra Clare's books are good. At points they're even great. The Mortal Instruments series is the best. There's a prequel series called the Infernal Devices that is kind of average. Rumor has it that she's working on another series in the same universe that takes place a few years after the main story. It's great that she wants to give her fans more books, but she hasn't finished the Mortal Instruments or the Infernal Devices series yet. Plus the books occasionally read like a fanfic.
SO LIKE, Cassandra Clare does incredibly shitty things in terms of her plagiarism history and not owning up to it. But then, I did enjoy what I read fo the Mortal Instruments series.
(Save the incestshiptease whatever one should call it, sense it was all over the frickin place.)
I read a wee bit of the prequel series, but it ended up being one of those books I put down; it was a little meh, and I would rather finish MI, then move on to immersing myself in the prequel. I don’t like hopping all over the timeline with 800 different series xD
I really, really appreciate her comments on the casting and roles outside of the status quo, though. That’s great to hear.
